Client Description
Our client, a state owned duty free company with presences around the world. To cope with rapid expansion, they are looking for an experienced Deputy General Manager to join their expanding team in Hong Kong.
Job Description
- Perform general management duties for the new beauty retail business in HK
- Establish strategic plans and budgets, and achieve optimum utilization of company resources
- Ensure new shops are up and running and deliver the expected performance according to plan for supporting the aggressive growth plan
- Ensure all functional teams are working cohesively and effectively in support of a newly established luxury brand business operation and growth.
- Oversee all operations and business activities to ensure the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission of the company.
- Plan the human resource requirements for ensuring a stable and capable workforce to support the business; and implement staff development / succession plan for long-term business development.
- Maintain existing partnerships in the retail market and explore potential new sales channels.
- Analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth
- Evaluate and implement modifications to existing operations, systems and procedures to improve efficiency of operations
- Maintain a deep knowledge of the markets and industry of the company
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Business or other related disciplines
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in retail industry, preferable with solid management and new business development experience from cosmetics travel retail sector
- Mature and well-organized leader with enthusiasm, inspiration, and initiative
- Self-motivated and result driven, natural leader and able to build a team.
- Proven record in developing both brand and sales effectively.
- Sound analytical and strategic / entrepreneurial mindset
- Excellent people management and negotiation skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects with adherence to details, deadlines and budgets
- Flexible and able to adapt to changes
- Comprehensive Cantonese, Mandarin and English language skills, both written and verbal.
