Infrastructure Specialist (Server)

Job Description

• Provide support in maintenance and administration of the IT infrastructure and its services including network, server and system monitoring services; and to support the implementation of new IT infrastructures
• Provide hardware and software installation and upgrade
• Coordinate with vendors to deliver various IT projects
• Perform system health check and report to relevant parties
• Monitor the performance of the infrastructure and carry out tuning exercises as appropriate to ensure optimal performance
• Identify single points of failure and weaknesses within the infrastructure and identify options for resolution
• Conduct problem analysis and liaise with other team/external suppliers to ensure appropriate fixes are applied to all identified problems
• Maintain system documentation and provide inventory control
• Design, maintain and publish work instructions and system workflow, including drafting and updating standard operation procedures (SOP)
• Support of infrastructure components in line with agreed service level agreements
• Provide input in the overall development of technical plans
• Constantly look for opportunities to improve the level of support offered for the same cost, including evaluation of third party software and tools to automate repetitive tasks
• Act as technical consultant providing advice and guidance relating to their area of technical specialty
• Ensure that quality solutions are developed, tested, and delivered in line with current IT policies, standards and procedures

Job Requirements

• Degree holder in Computer Science or IT related discipline
• 6+ year relevant working experience in IT infrastructure and system administration
• Hands-on experience in Microsoft Windows and Exchange system, managing VMware and Citrix environments, SAN storage systems, and Cisco router, switches, firewall, VPN support and troubleshooting
• Hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure Cloud, SQL and Oracle is an advantage
• Willing to work under pressure
• Must have excellent analytical, problem solving, communication skills
• Must be business savvy and result oriented as well as a team player
• Good interpersonal skills to interact with team members & business users
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and switch between tasks quickly
• Good command of spoken and written English & Chinese
